Welcome to Extension.  This are of Nanaimo has a great deal of history.  There was and still is a great sense of Community.  This area is quite rural and was predominantly a Coal Mining community in the past.  Coal has not been mined anywhere in Nanaimo for the past 80 years.  This area has larger properties and farmlands and is affordable and an ideal place for that rural privacy some buyers are looking for.  Water has long since been an issue but now with water treatment options and some ingenuity this is a great place to call home.  The elementary feeder for this area is Cinnabar Valley Elementary.
